To start with, we’ll first take photographs of your teeth and face plus a short video shoot of your smile while you speak to create a 3D image of your mouth. Then we will be making impressions of your upper and lower jaw followed by X-ray of your mouth.
All this information put together will help formulate thee final treatment plan. This will include how each tooth will be moved to achieve your perfect smile.
Dr. Basu will then decide how to places the brackets based on the treatment plan formulated by her. Thereafter she will insert the wire once the brackets have been placed and apply the necessary bends in the wire to bring about the optimum planned movement for each tooth.
For example, a bend can help a rotated tooth to turn and face the right way, or aligning one tooth that is too far forward as compare to rest of the teeth. This process of tooth movement is called remodeling of bone that surrounds the roots of your teeth.
