Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is treatment of the infected nerve or pulp of the tooth which has been left untreated for a long period. Infection spreads through the outer tooth layers (enamel and dentin) reaching the nerve/pulp tissue thus causing pain. In such cases the only way to save the tooth is by doing an RCT.
We at Magnum Dental Care believe in providing our patients with a painless and comfortable experience while getting an RCT done, as we believe that our patient’s comfort is top priority.
We always encourage a single sitting root canal therapy. This has quite a few benefits over multiple sitting RCTs like it is a one time visit and also reduces the chances of infection. Following this a tooth colored porcelain crown is placed on the tooth to safeguard it from biting forces and prevent breakage.
Gum Therapy
Gum diseases or infection mostly occur due to poor oral hygiene, that happens due to plaque, calculus build up. But at times the underlying cause can be a medical condition too like diabetes, heart conditions and pregnancy.
We at Magnum dental care strongly believe that it is extremely important to take very good care of your gums as it helps maintain good oral hygiene and health.
Teeth cleaning / teeth scaling:
This procedure involves the removal of tartar,calculus and stains from all the surfaces of the teeth. Every person needs to get a professional teeth cleaning done every 6 months to maintain healthy gums and teeth. If regular scaling is not done it results in pain, sensitivity and bleeding gums. Another problem often seen in patients is a foul smell in the mouth or halitosis.
Deep cleaning / Curettage :
When teeth scaling alone doesn’t suffice, wherein cleaning has not been done for the long time due to multiple reasons, deposits seep through the gums and accumulate around the tooth surface including roots. This in turn causes gums to recede i.e. the gum line moves away from the teeth surface. Also in severe gum diseases , gum surgery is needed after thorough cleaning and root planing. In such cases a thorough cleaning extending subgingivally or under the gum margin , sometimes including roots also is required in order to save the teeth in the long run.
Gum discoloration/ blackish gums: This happens due to multiple reasons like excessive melanin production in some people, smoking, diet, medications (to treat acne), amalgam tattoo, Acute necrotising ulcerative gingivitis (ANUG). Treatment includes medication sometimes to reverse the condition or gum bleaching to lighten the color of the gums depending on the underlying cause.
Gum reshaping/contouring : Gummy smile or uneven shape of gums can make someone conscious of their smile. In order to correct such concerns, gum reshaping is done for you to get that beautiful smile you desire.
